After teaching Tap for more than 35 years at my own studio and at studios, conventions and teacher’s training schools all around the world, I decided to combine my Tap syllabus, my Music Theory training and my classroom experience into STEP BY STEP; A Complete Guide to Teaching Tap BOOKS ONE and TWO.
BOOK ONE covers BEGINNING and ADVANCED BEGINNING material while BOOK TWO tackles INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE work.
Each level breaks the material into 16 classes. Depending on the ability of the students, material can be covered in one class or teachers may spread the material over several weeks.
It tells the teacher what they will need to prepare for class. Gives hints on teaching the material as well as information on Tap History and Music Theory.
These books contain hundreds of exercises and steps. Specific steps are provided for each lesson, counts and the Musical Notation is also given.
A full DICTIONARY OF TERMS for all steps in the book can be found at the end along with Classroom Handouts.
Lists of skills for each class and each level can assist in preparing student progress reports.
Everything you or your staff need to have a successful, fully organized and time tested Tap program is available in these two books. Just add students!
BOOK ONE is 333 pages, BOOK TWO is 480! Each book costs $70 or purchase both for $130!
